Even though the sound of air sirens has become an integral part of our daily routine, we strongly believe that we will get through this complicated times with the support of our dear friends, partners and colleagues. Our city is constantly being attacked and bombed by various military forces. The only exception has been made for the first year cadets, which were given an opportunity to be introduced to the National University and start their journey properly.Īccording to the schedule, cadets will attend up to 6 classes a day due to fears of predicted problems with the provision of electricity and heating in the coming winter period. The aggressive invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation on February 24 provoked a forced transition to online learning and a combined format.

During the whole history of the educational establishment there have been secured high professionalism of teachers, standards of education and training which meet the international requirements. Today the name reflects the highest status of a higher educational institution in Ukraine – National University and our brand – “Odessa Maritime Academy”. Throughout its existence since 1944, the academy has had different names. Odessa Maritime Academy has long been well known in the world maritime community. Cadet’s initiation has managed to collect 400 freshmen during this extremely hard time. This event was held under martial law due to military aggression of the Russian Federation. Odesa National Maritime University (Ukrainian: ) is a Ukrainian university in Odesa. ONMU has trained staff for maritime industry of several foreign countries since 1950.On September 30, 2022, the National University “Odessa Maritime Academy” hosted the initiation of the 2022 first-year students as cadets of the University. The organization is under direct subordination of the Ministry of Science sand Education of Ukraine and has got the IV-th (the highest) level of accreditation. ONMU is a versatile educational institution, which prepares graduates of all educational qualifying levels (Bachelor, Specialist, Master) for full maintenance of personnel requirements for maritime and river branch.
